10 Questions with PGA Tour Caddie and Arccos Ambassador, Ted Scott

Ted Scott Arccos Interview

We caught up with Ted Scott, PGA Tour caddie and Arccos Ambassador a few months back in Arizona. We asked Ted about life on Tour, his greatest accomplishments as a caddie and his thoughts on the importance of data for Tour players, coaches, and amateurs. Here is a portion of our interview. Of course, it includes Ted’s take on his favorite Major, Augusta!

More about Ted:

Ted Scott is famously Bubba Watson’s caddie, a role he’s held since 2006. Yet the native of Lafayette, La., actually began his working life in a very unique manner – as a world champion foosball player. He then turned his competitive spirit and excellent hand-eye coordination to golf, becoming a mini-tour pro known for his wild shots and superb short game. Scott actually picked up caddying on a whim, looping for Grant Waite during the Louisiana Open.

“I was playing some mini-tour events in 1999, trying to make my way as a golfer, when the Web.com Tour came to my hometown. I tried to Monday qualify but didn’t make it, so I called the course and asked about caddying. The caddie master introduced me to Grant.”

Scott subsequently spent time on the bags of Paul Azinger and Olin Browne, before connecting with Watson 14 years ago. Their partnership has resulted in two Masters wins, and 10 other PGA Tour titles.

When not traveling the world for work, Scott – who’s widely admired for his calm demeanor and keen mind – spends time at home with his wife, Melanie, and two children. He also gives back to the game by coaching a number of junior players, including NCAA Division I golfers.
